WAS THE REFERENDUM IN CRIMEA ILLEGAL?

When any where, any time, a referendum, that takes place in an environment of confrontation, very close to a war environment can be legal?

IS THE WILL OF A PEOPLE - whatever the circumstances - ILLEGAL?

Or only the will of the kosovars is legal?
(be remembered that at the time of the greatest tension of the confrontation, between Serbia and the West, the secretary of state of the US, Condoleezza Rice - maybe she also under great tension - said: "Kosovo will be independent, one way or the other").

But the US and the Marchall Merkel want us to believe so!
At this very moment, watching CNN, one's see, with 50% of the votes counted, 95.5% of the votes say yes, to join the Russian federation, with a participation in the vote around 80%!
What anybody has to say about that?!?!?!
Las but not the least. As far as i can see, they were not taken to the voting assemblies, at the point of "rifles conviction"!!!!
