The UK's prime minister, Boris Johnson, is facing a vote of confidence in his leadership from his own party's MPs. If he loses it, he will step down as prime minister.
The vote - on Monday night - is happening because at least 15% of Conservative sitting MPs have written a letter saying they no longer have confidence in Boris Johnson. Pressure on Mr Johnson has been mounting since a report last month highlighted Covid rule-breaking parties in Downing Street - the heart of UK government and where the prime minister lives.
At least 180 MPs need to vote against Mr Johnson to remove him as PM and if he survives the vote, he will be protected from another no-confidence ballot for a year. A Downing Street spokeswoman said the vote would be a chance to "end months of speculation and allow the government to draw a line and move on". https://bbc.in/3xno9ro
