This was one of many touching scenes we captured at the Vienna train station over the weekend. This little Austrian girl wanted to give away her toy watch to a Syrian refugee child. Masa, 6 was thrilled with the gift.
Masa had just arrived from a scary two week journey from Damascus, to Turkey, across the sea to Greece, then through the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Serbia, Hungary and Austria. When our colleagues met them, the family was about to travel on by train and ferry to Sweden where they will ask for asylum and unite with family.
